Drylands Permaculture and Water
Systems
July 10 - Aug. 4, 2006
Guest Speaker: John Todd*
Learn how to install self sustaining, ecologically designed, agricultural
systems in the high and low deserts of Arizona, USA.
In this four-week 'hands-on' workshop taught by Brad Lancaster and
Andrew Millison, participants will design and install Permaculture
landscaping features as well as water systems such as rain water harvesting
cisterns, branching grey water systems and a small biological machine
based on the concepts of John Todd, author of " From Eco-cities
to Living Machines ". The workshop will spend time in the cities
of Prescott and Tucson learning to integrate Permaculture into the
urban environment. The techniques you learn here address the challenges
of installing agricultural systems in the arid, desert environment,
but you will find the techniques and disciplines applicable to many
varied climates and situations. Dr. John Todd will be presenting a
one day seminar to the workshop on his ideas for ecological design
of water treatment.
Spaces are limited, apply as soon as possible. No pre-requisites.
Permaculture Designer Certificate awarded with completion of workshop.
